The CAPT is currently seeking exceptional candidates for postdoctoral positions in the fields of high energy density science (physics) and scientific computing, with emphasis on the following areas. 

- High energy density condensed-matter physics including warm dense matter physics etc.；
- Exploration and computational design of new materials with novel properties; 
- Atomic physics in the field of intense lasers；Energetic charged-particle acceleration physics under strong fields;
- Laser-plasma physics;
- Hydrodynamic instabilities and compressible turbulence;
- Scientific computing relevant to the above subjects. 
 

The CAPT is continuing a rapid expansion in its research and education endeavors and is dedicated to bringing together both internationally-renowned scientists and excellent young researchers to work in exciting, cutting-edge and challenging fields.
 

Applicants should hold a PhD degree in physics, mechanical engineering, materials sciences, computer science, mathematics or related field. Strong academic background and research potential are required, in addition to excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. Exceptional candidates will be employed as “PEIYUAN FELLOW”, or get extra support from the “Director Fund”.

ABOUT Peiyuan CHOU (Peiyuan ZHOU ) 

Professor Peiyuan Chou (1902-1993) was a world-renowned leading expert on fluid dynamics and theoretical physics. He was one of the founders of modern mechanics and theoretical physics in China. He had served as vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and President of Peking University, etc. He had a life of industry, exertion and perseverance, full of living charm and wit, respect for science, patriotism and selfless dedication to the pursuit for the truth.
